Multi-award winning garden designer Tim Austen appeared on TV screens as judge of RTÉ One’s Super Garden TV series in 2010 and 2011 and returned to mentor the winning contestant in 2013. He is also a guest, design judge and creator of gardens at the annual Northwest garden show- he featured on the RTÉ Nationwide episode filmed there in 2011. He has been profiled widely in the Irish press and has done national radio broadcasting. His awards include 3 gold medals at Bloom in the Park in 2008, 2009 and 2013. He won the Peoples’ Favourite Garden at Bloom 2008 and Best Garden award at Bloom 2009. His garden was profiled by Aine Lawlor on RTÉ’s Bloom special 2013.

Tim worked with the charity VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) to produce the Silver medal winning ‘Dollar-a-day’ garden at Bloom 2010. This garden drew attention to the VSO’s projects central African countries. He completed the design for a special labyrinth built at Barretstown by volunteers as part of RTE’s “Do the Right Thing show” in 2011. Tim is an accredited designer with the Garden and Landscape Designers Association (GLDA) and is currently Vice-President of the Irish Landscape Institute.
