Stylish in Killarney

Outdoor garden room

in Killarney, Co. Kerry

If I had to come up with a new design for a good-looking, functional back garden space to the brief “outdoor garden room”, I would certainly refer to the crisp design that I used for this patio space adjoining a modern stone-clad property set in the Kerry countryside (this garden design would also work equally well for a stylish city space).

In our view, the design ticks all the boxes in terms of delivering on the clients needs for an outdoor, sheltered dining space (for family and friends). It is both attractive and functional; and the garden finishes tie-in with the architecture of their house.

The garden includes raised planters clad in coursed stone, integrated seating and barbecue unit, a pergola, composite deck (so low maintenance), natural textured (concrete) paving, and soft planting giving all year round colour and interest. We included a single multi-stemmed Amelanchier lamarkii (Juneberry) tree for vertical interest also.

“I am delighted with the way this simple design has translated in to a show piece garden project for ourselves and also for our clients.” Tim Austen, September 2013
