Our Bloom 2011 entry: The Growise Garden

Tim Austen’s  fourth Bloom show garden entry, The Growise Garden sponsored by Bord na Mona (Growise) and the Kildare Growers plant and tree experts is under construction in the beautiful show area at the Phoenix Park visitor centre.

Tim Austen designed Growise garden for Bloom 2011

This colourful garden space is designed to inspire creativity with its contrasting rustic and modern materials and it is also a garden retreat with its beautiful hand-crafted stack-wood gazebo (made from sustainably sourced Irish timber) providing a garden getaway amongst the beautiful planting.  A deeper theme explored by the show garden loooks at  landscape change with the “crazy-paving” and alignment of the boardwalk hinting at fracturing and fissuring of the landscape. Alternatively, the red boardwalk can simply be viewed as somewhere to strut-your-stuff, if you are in the show mood!

The build is being tracked on www.thelandscapearchitect’sjournal.com and you can find out more information about the garden design there also.  If you would like discount tickets then go visit the Bloom website.
